Welcome, Foolish Mortals

Sorry, I couldn't help myself. It was right there and I needed it to be a thing. The title, I mean.

    *sighs*

    Let's try again, shall we?

Hello, my name is Steph, and this is my second attempt at a book blog. I started one in 2013 called Siren's Findings, which you may have come from because for some odd reason, people are still interested in what I have to say about the books I read. If you've found your way over here from there, I congratulate you on your dedication to the ramblings of a teenage/young girl. As you can see, I've changed a lot in the 9 years since I posted anything on any blog here, or anywhere else...

(Except Tumblr, but that was mostly just reposting and sharing my recent obsession for a card game called MTG. You probably haven't heard of it, it's pretty underground.)

For one thing, the pandemic caused me to read a whopping total of 34 books and 14,435 pages in 2021, which is an out of school record that I've been trying to beat ever since, with little to no success. I know what you're thinking; Steph, isn't it true that some people read hundreds of books a year? How the heck is it hard for you to just read 34?! and to that I say not all of us can sit around reading all day, you sweet summer child. Some of us have lives, you know!

*coughs* Well, not me, but I'm sure someone does...

Another thing is that I am now reading adult fiction as well, and before you go asking if I've read the latest Sarah J. Maas book (or whatever first book with extra spice that popped into that pretty little head of yours,) know that I'm talking about books like Mistborn or Dungeon Crawler Carl, and I'm not very comfortable around extra spice, in food or in books, okay?

Also, I have gotten pretty addicted to tea, and have fully embraced the stereotypical librarian aesthetic with a closet full of cardigans and a little seven pound tuxedo cat named Mittens. My favorite season is autumn (why I thought it was winter for so long, I'll never know...,) I love staring endlessly into a fireplace/candle/bonfire and taking photos of said fireplace/candle/bonfire, I am a big hater of THE BIG LIGHT, and am a proud member of the Tylenol/ESP community, if you couldn't already tell.

If you've somehow found this blog when searching on Google...

GET OUT WHILE YOU HAVE THE CHANCE.

I mean, only if you want to. Otherwise, thank you for coming and I hope you enjoy your time here.

As my profile says, I am looking forward to jotting down my thoughts about books etc. to hopefully reignite some of the ashes of my childhood joy that the pandemic and the last few years have so rudely stolen from me. I may even put in some of my photography on here, if I think it's relevant.

Anyways, please do carry on with your daily screentime/rot. I'll probably be posting here in the future, but I won't be making any promises as to when.

    Toodles,
    ~QuothTheRaven

P.S. Yes, I am a big fan of Edgar Allen Poe, why do you ask?
